[WTB] Trunk for '71 Sportsroof (Mach)
#1
Title says all - the '71 Mach 1 I just recently picked up could definitely use a replacement, and it'd be nice if I could find one with a paint match too (even though the roof and quarter will wind up repainted as well, sooner or later):

If your only looking for the lid, PM Don at OMS. He'll send you in the right direction for whatever parts your going to need.

Just order a new one from Don at OMS..The repro trunk lids he sells are ONE of the few parts that are actually made well..& fit very very nice..There's one on my car..By the looks of the rear hit your car took..You need to check for secondary damage to the inner structure..Trunk lid hinges...package shelf structure..You might need a pull to get the unibody aligned depending on what you find.

+1 that is a hard hit and as Q stated, most likely inner structure damage as well

Already inspected the inner fender and rear unibody frame rail. No visible warpage or dents.

I'll measure it up soon as the car is running and proves itself reasonably reliable. In the meantime, all I need is a trunk that I can close reasonably (both for convenience and to keep water from dripping through the car cover into the trunk).

I'm not willing to spend time in welding on a skin when I can throw on a half-decent trunklid for the time being.

I can check this week for a good decklid if you wish (If for some reason Don doesn't have a used one, if you go that route). Just let me know, have 28 1971-73 Parts cars. Mike

Thanks from MotorCity Mustang!
