Wood Applique
#1
Is there a source for wood applique. I own a 1971 Grandé with deluxe interior.
We just installed a new dash assembly with all the applique but the door panels need applique as does the steering wheel. Maybe just go to a hardware store and buy some wood grain, cut it my self.

This is the closest match I found, very close.http://www.rvinyl.com/Wood-Grain-Vinyl-Film-Walnut.htm. I made a template from the door panel inserts, used an aluminum straight edge and an exacto knife. Chuck

That looks nice Chuck. What type of adhesive did you use?

Those look great! I've been thinking about ordering some of the self adhesive shelf paper like that. Thanks for the link.
This is the one I was considering, Golden Walnut Woodgrain:
Each roll is:
17 3/4"wide x 6'5" Long
#3460029-DCF
$8.99 per roll

See my post using RVinyl on center guage console:

I will be using the same vinyl on the doors also.

Thanks Chuck, I will check that out. We replaced the door panels and used the original inserts, but the wood grain is peeling. This would not be a big deal except we also replaced the seats, carpet, dash etc. The peeling applique on the steering wheel also looks bad.
