Wife's New Mustang
#1
Last week I was out in San Francisco taking in some training with one of our vendors. I was truly enjoying the much cooler temperatures over what we have been enduring here in the Midwest and was actually feeling bad that my wife was still here suffering with a mini-van that takes forever to cool when it gets hot out.

I had just returned from lunch on Thursday when I got a text from my wife that simply said she had fixed her hot mini-van issues once and for all. That was all I received and, since I was in class I couldn't text her back to ask for clarification. I didn't need to as the next text I got was this...

When I got home Friday night she told me all about how a local dealer was offering her enough money to trade out her high mileage 2006 Ford mini-van for the Mustang (1999 convertible) and give her a check for the difference! She asked me for my opinion on the deal and I told her I would support any deal that got that van out of our driveway for a Mustang!

We went to the dealership and I looked the car over and noted that it had been in a front end collision that had been repaired by the local Ford dealership back in 2002 but that of all the repairs they made the hood latch was something that had been overlooked and was now bad. I got the selling dealer to agree to fix it and a couple of other minor issues as well as fill the fuel tank and then push back enough cash to allow us to buy a few goodies for her 'new' car and they all agreed. She will pick it up later today.

Mini van to Mustang Convertible? Sounds like a GREAT transition to me!

Really Mac, if your First Lady is anything like my First Lady, she has EARNED every possible "luxury" as a result of the years served as an AF wifeSmile.

Congratulations on the "deal."

There is no question she has earned this and I was certainly happy to help her get what she wanted!

My wife and I were driving along Friday in my truck and she had been listening to something on the radio when she all of a sudden asked where would be a good place to purchase a new radio for her Mustang and since we were by the Mid Rivers Mall we swung by Audio Express to let her look around. Since her stock stereo was, well, stock she wanted better sound quality at volume with the top up and she decided on a Kenwood Excelon unit and some Kicker coaxial speakers to replace the stock four. When they removed the original parts they also installed a pocket for her which I think she likes almost as much as the new Kenwood!

To wired!

Now when we're driving on days like this we can do it whilst listening to her favorite tunes!

I have to admit, I sure did enjoy the ride! She did all the driving and I actually got to see some of the sights I miss because I'm paying attention to the road and other drivers around me.
