Wheel Vintiques and dog dish caps?
#1
Excuse me if this has been asked before.....

I got a set of these dog dish caps off of ebay. They measure 10.5 in.

Will they fit tight on these wheels (O.E. Chevy-Ford bare)?

http://www.wheelvintiques.com/index.php/...eries.html

I was thinkin of running 15x6 3 3/4" backspace (BFG radial T/A 215/65/15) in the front and 15x8 4 1/4" backspace(BFG radial T/A 255/60/15) in the rear. Will this fit without any rub issues and not needing to roll the rear fenders?

What about where can I find trim rings?

Yeap, they were too big for my stock 14x6 wheels.....

Thanks in advance for any replies......

How tall are the sides of those caps?
I have considered this same setup as you are considering. I want to use a 15x8 wheel and use the factory 15 inch trim rings and caps.

You might also try and search the site using the search box in the upper right corner of each page.

Tons of posts about this subject.

I've been looking into this as well, the intent being to duplicate the look of the difficult-to-find, OEM Ford 15x7 hubcap-trim ring setup.

From what I can gather from Wheel Vintiques' website, they claim their Ford/Chevy rims (Type 62 I think it was?) works with 10 1/8" caps, but the Ford ones I have that look like yours measure about 10.5" across.

I'm guessing that your hubcaps are 1.25" or 1.5" tall? (I measured mine but can't remember...)

The other info I can add is that I have an OEM Ford 14x7 wheel, and the BS on that measures 4.0"...

I was able to grab a pair of Ford 15x7 trim rings off of Ebay recently but haven't made it farther than that...

How about the inside diameter of the rolled lip that pops onto the wheel?

Yes the dog dish caps will 100% fit the 15x7 and 15x8 wheel vintiques wheels. I just did it in January. The 15" trim rings fit but almost didn't. It was hard to get them on the wheel. One side would go in but it pushed the opposite side out. Wash, rinse, repeat. It took a lot of effort to get them on.

The dish caps were too shallow looking on the 15x8 wheels so I used van dog dishes on the rear andit looked much better but was still shallower than the stock look.

Good luck finding 15" trim rings. It is a near impossible task to locate them and when/if you find them they are quite pricey.

Here's a pic on the wheel vintiques 15x7 on the front and 15x8 on the rear. The rear dog dish caps are the deeper ones from the econoline van.

Thank you for your answer! Definitely going with those.....

Here's some measurements. Looks like 10 11/16" outside diameter.

Looks like 10 1/4" inside diameter.

Looks like a little more than an inch. The ruler moved as I was taking the pic.....
