What Kind of Car is That?
#1
Pulled into a gas station; while filling my tank a guy approaches and
says "that's a '76 Chevy right". I told him 'close', rather a '71 Mustang. He was driving some silver fast looking car and had a thick German accent. He said he followed me down the road and probably wondered what kind of car he had a hard time keeping up with. Five minutes later I pull into the local beer store and a guy says "1970 right", close, 1971 I say. The car needs some body work and a paint job plus new vinyl roof. The only thing that attracks these people is the sound of Don's engine Big Grin

These cars attract people even when they are not running.

I can't even count how many times I've had days like that.

My favorite question is "Is that a Mark 1, 2, or 3?"

I just kindly reply, "I believe your thinking about Lincolns, this car, is a Mach 1."

I was driving down the street, 2 colors (oxidized maroon and the original gold/yellow door) with no windows, on the side or rear and people were asking about it. Even when they are ripped to pieces they attract attention.

My work colleague who's into motorbikes, rings me after emailing a photo of my new pride and joy. (71 mach1)

He says: Is that a mach 1 or mach 2? or a colby!
I say, mate, the mach 2 is a razor for shaving and colby is a cheese!

He never pretended to know anything about musclecars after that.

Raced a 77 Monte Carlo back in the day and remember when we stopped to get a beer afterwards he realized the loud noise he heard was his vinyle top had peeled off. I looked at him and said " Guess I can't say I blew your doors in BUT..." Big Grin
