What Headers on a 1973 Mach 1 Q Code 4 speed???
#1
Ok, so I'm working on getting things moving again on my Barn Find. It's been Sitting 39 years. Motor is not stuck. I've got the plugs out and the Cylinders soaking. I'll eventually be needing some headers. I've been looking around. Actually the Flowtech's from Advance are looking like a pretty good bang for the buck. Problem is, they say they won't fit a 4 speed. What are some part numbers you guys have used for cleveland 4v 4 speed cars? Everything is all factory on mine. I don't have PS either, so that may help with clearance issues from what I've heard. Also, I am not in a position to break the bank here. I'm just looking to get on the road. I'll probably do something "nicer" down the road, but I'm fine with just black and a more affordable option right now. Like I said, the Flowtech's from Advance auto are just under $200, so that's what had me so interested in them. I know sometimes those application guides are incorrect, so I wanted to get some real world knowledge from you guys that have tried it. What will work on my 4 speed Q code out of the box?

Hooker Competition 6915HKR fits perfect with 4 speed and 4 barrel heads. Only sub-$500 header that does.

And that's why I love this site. Real world info from guys that have tried it. It's only a few $ more, and it would be well worth that difference to not fight something that doesn't fit. I'll start planning on them then.

Information about the way they come. Chuck
"Notes:

The paint applied to these headers is a temporary coating only and is designed to burn off during use. High temperature paint or other high temperature coatings are recommended."
