Weekly Fun Question for February 16, 2013
Good Day All!

Please note that VIP Members are not eligible to participate in this exercise as a different problem is being presented on the VIP WFQ Forum for your entertainment and "bragging rights."

Specifics on the Weekly Fun Question (WFQ), to include information on awards and prizes for Winners, can be found on the thread below.

http://www.7173mustangs.com/thread-what-...tion--5488

Please note that when you submit your response, it will not usually be viewable until I release all the responses at the end of the exercise.

The Problem:

Considering the following, which application(s) would NOT have been available from the "Factory" with a wide ratio 4-speed transmission?

a. 1971 M Code

b. 1971 Q Code

c. 1971 R Code

d. 1973 C Code

This exercise will end at approximately 7:00 PM (CST) on Monday, February 18, 2013.

Good Luck!

BT
The desired response is "d. 1973 C Code".

During the production runs of the 1971 - 1973 Mustangs, ALL 4-speed transmissions (M-Coded, Q-Coded and R-coded) behind 302s and 351s were Wide Ratios. The only exception were the 748 versions of the 1971 "C" and "J" coded 429 engines which received the Close Ratio 4-speeds.

"I love my Hookers!" and "Get some Strange" probably have a different connotation to non automotive enthusiasts!

Obviously the R code as all Boss 351 cars were equipped with the same power train including the close ratio 4-speed. So I pick "C".

To repeat the problem:

Considering the following, which application(s) would NOT have been available from the "Factory" with a wide ratio 4-speed transmission?

a. 1971 M Code

b. 1971 Q Code

c. 1971 R Code

d. 1973 C Code

Answer: The desired response is "d. 1973 C Code". Based on the above, TommyK "is on the boards" for his second "win." Congratulations, Tommy!
