Weekly Fun Question for 10-22-2011
Good Day:

The Weekly Fun Question (WFQ) is designed as an "ENTERTAINMENT" exercise to give "General" Members the opportunity to test their knowledge on information relative to the '71 - '73 Mustangs. It is also designed to allow the same members the chance to have a nice #1 Icon added to their profile when they are the FIRST to provide the desired response. Additionally, if a general member "wins" on three (3) separate occasions, the member will have his/her membership (a $25.00 value) paid for a VIP subscription.

Please keep in mind that sometimes there may be contradictory information provided by certain sources relative to our Mustangs. We always try to ensure the WFQs are developed from recognized sources. That having been said, if a source provides different information than what we are looking for, we will more than likely go with the original source for the purpose of declaring a "winner." That does not mean that we will not discuss the discrepancy as that could help enhance credibility and broaden the knowledge on the Site.

Please also note that when you respond to this thread, you will not see your "answer" as the thread is designed to show the responses at the end of the current contest (usually at approximately 7:00 P.M. {CST}) the following Monday when the thread is transferred to the "Archives" Forum.

VIP members can also "play" but their reward is "bragging rights" amongst their peers on the VIP Forum. General members are NOT competing against VIP members in this exercise. VIP members have their very own periodic "contest" which has an even more substantive award.
So, even though there may have been a number of replies to the question, those replies may not necessarily be correct or those replies could be from VIP Members and will not count toward the "General" Winner's AWARD.

Also, please keep in mind that in order for responses to "count" they must be posted up to this thread. PMs to me will not do itSmile.

[/b] Today's contest will end at approximately 7:00 P.M. on Monday, October 24, 2011.

[size=medium]The problem:

How many different "Engine Codes" were available for the Mustangs built for the 1971 - 1973 Model years?

A. Six (6)

B. Seven (7)

C. Nine (9)

D. Ten (10)

Good Luck!

The desired response is "D" as there were ten (10) engine codes available on the Mustang during the 1971 - 1973 model years. In 1971, there were 10, Seven (7) in 1972, and five (5) in 1973. For 1971, the 10 are:

3 = 250-1V Export.
6 = 302-2V Export.
L = 250-1V.
F = 302-2V.
H =351-2V.
M =351-4V.
Q =351-4V (Cobra Jet)
R = 351-4V Boss.
C = 429-4V Non Ram-air
J = 429-4V Ram-air

Do the RIGHT thing.
