Weekly Fun Question for 10-08-2011
Good Day:

The Weekly Fun Question (WFQ) is designed as a "FUN" exercise to give "General" Members the opportunity to test their knowledge on information relative to the '71 - '73 Mustangs. It is also designed to allow the same members the chance to have a nice #1 Icon added to their profile when they are the FIRST to provide the desired response. If a general member "wins" on three (3) separate occasions, the member will have his/her membership (a $25.00 value) paid for a VIP subscription.

Please keep in mind sometimes there may be contradictory information provided by certain sources relative to our Mustangs. We always try to ensure the WFQs are developed from recognized sources. That having been said, if a source provides different information than what we are looking for, we will more than likely go with the original source for the purpose of declaring a "winner." That does not mean that we will not discuss the discrepancy as that will help build credibility on the Site.

Please also note that when you respond to this thread, you will not see your "answer" as the thread is designed to show the responses at the end of the current contest (usually at approximately 7:00 P.M. {CST}) the following Monday when the thread is transferred to the "Archives" Forum. So, even though there may have been a number of replies to the question, those replies may not necessarily be correct. Also, please keep in mind that in order for responses to "count" they must be posted up to this thread. PM to me will not do itSmile.

[/b] Today's contest will end at approximately 7:00 P.M. on Monday, October 10, 2011.

While VIP members can also "play", their reward is "bragging rights" amongst their peers on the VIP Forum. General members are [size=x-large]NOT
competing against VIP members in this exercise. VIP members have their very own periodic "contest" which has an even more substantive award.

The problem:

Under what circumstance(s) could a 1972 Fastback be ordered with the "EXTERIOR DECOR GROUP?"

Good Luck!

BT
The Exterior Decor Group treatment (Lower Body Paint Treatment - with Chrome Molding, Honeycomb Grille and Sportslamps, Color-keyed Front Bumper, Color-keyed Hood and Front Moldings, and Flat Brushed Aluminum Hubcaps with Trim Rings) was available for base Hardtops and Convertibles only, BUT it could be ordered on the Fastback as part of the Sprint Package
A or Sprint Package B.

Good question BT.

The problem:

Under what circumstance(s) could a 1972 Fastback be ordered with the "EXTERIOR DECOR GROUP?"

Answer: when the fastback came equipped with a 351-2v or 351-4v engine and when the fastback is not a Mach 1.

Only on Sprint models.

I added the ending Mach 1 disclaimer part to my answer after thinking about it because the Decor group was standard items on a Mach 1 so there would be no need to order the Decor group when ordering a Mach 1.

We do have Winners for this week from both the General Membership and from the VIP ranks!

The question is:

Under what circumstance(s) could a 1972 Fastback be ordered with the "EXTERIOR DECOR GROUP?

The desired response is:

The Exterior Decor Group treatment (Lower Body Paint Treatment - with Chrome Molding, Honeycomb Grille and Sportslamps, Color-keyed Front Bumper, Color-keyed Hood and Front Moldings, and Flat Brushed Aluminum Hubcaps with Trim Rings) was available for base Hardtops and Convertibles only, BUT it could be ordered on the Fastback as part of the Sprint Package
A or Sprint Package B.

72 R Code was the First General Member to post up with the desired response.

It is also noted that rvrtrash is the first VIP Member to post up with the desired response.

Congratulations to 72 R Code and rvrtrash!
