VIP Weekly Fun Question for March 16, 2013
SUPERSTARS!

In commemoration of "St. Patrick's Day", this week's question is a "Special" one in that the First VIP Member to provide the desired response will receive a $100.00 store credit with Ohio Mustang Supply, along with the usual "bragging rights" and an additional Icon.

Like a couple of the previous "Special" problems, this exercise is designed to "tie" many of the questions together that have been previously posted.

The Problem:

Which of the following "Vehicle Certification Label(s)" is/are not correct for the 1971, 1972 or 1973 Mustang called out on the label? The correct response will identify the incorrect Label(s) and identify what data is incorrect for the application. Keep in mind that the "Date Code" is correct for ALL applications.

a. Date: 12/70 VIN: 1T02H162031
Body: 63D Color: I Trim: CF Axle:6 Trans: U DSO: 28

b. Date: 02/71 VIN: 1F03F169322
Body: 76D Color: C Trim: 1F Axle: 9 Trans: 1 DSO: 32

c. Date: 12/71 VIN:2F04Q152091
Body: 65F Color: 4E Trim: A9 Axle: R Trans: 5 DSO:55

d. Date: 04/73 VIN:3F05H209440
Body: 63R Color:4F Trim: AR Axle: K Trans: 5 DSO:13

The First VIP Member to post up with the desired response, to include the correct explanation (if applicable) as to why the cited "Vehicle Certification Label" is invalid for the application will be declared the "Winner."

This exercise will terminate at approximately 7:00 PM (CST) on Monday, March 18, 2012.

Good Luck!
c. Date: 12/71 VIN:2F04Q152091 Grandé 351 4v
Body: 65F Color: 4E Trim: A9 Axle: R Trans: 5 DSO:55

Cool! Thanks guys. Thanks Don at OMS for offering up the store credit as a prize and thanks BT for another great question.

I wasn't totally sure of my answer because BT usually tosses in a twist somewhere and he did again with the A9 trim. Marti says a car came that way but elsewhere in his book doesn't list or define what combo A9 represents.

So what color trim is A9? Huh

My Mustangs:
71 M-code Mach 1, Medium Blue/White Sport, 4R70W, 3L50, Factory Ram Air.
72 Q-code Mach 1, Pewter/Black Sport, 4-spd, 3L25.
65 Convertible, Britney Blue/White/White, more modified than original.
05 Convertible, Legend Lime/Tan/Tan, future classic??

It appears that the "A9" trim was only used on that ONE hardtop during the 1971 - 1973 Mustang production run. I have been unable to find an explanation as to what color it actually isAngry.

A9 was probably black leather for an executive.

The only A9 Code I could find for trim was on a 65 Mercury and it was Palomino and Cloth
