VIP Weekly Fun Question for March 15, 2014
SUPERSTARS!

Well, we had a LOT of correct responses to last week's question but lets see what y'all can do with this relatively "OBSCURE" problem.

The Question:

What is the base part number that distinguishes a 1972 Mustang Grandé's front seat belt from that of a 1972 Mustang Convertible?

The "Winner" will receive a nice Icon to add to their profile, bragging rights and the option to develop next week's "regular" Weekly Fun Question.

This exercise will end at approximately 7:00 PM (CST) on Monday, February 17, 2014.

Good Luck!

BT
The Grandé (and other hardtops and fastback) base number is 6561384 while the convertible is 76611A72

OK,
I went out to my car and all I could find was the Manufacture date, and the Code.
no part number.
so I think the Base Part number starts with D2ZZ-

Here is a total guess:

Trim parts use seven digits in the part number, the first two of which identify the basic bodystyle application, with the last five identifying the specific part within a general body area. A three-letter suffix may be used, usually to indicate color.

Convert body style = 76
Coupe = 62

Example: D2ZZ-76XXXXX-BBB For convertible where:
xxxxx is the part identifier for the belt depending on what part, buckle end, clip end, anchor bolts etc.
BBB is the color of the belt

for Grandé: D2ZZ-62XXXXX-BBB

SUPERSTAR!

To repeat the Problem:

What is the base part number that distinguishes a 1972 Mustang Grandé's front seat belt from that of a 1972 Mustang Convertible?

The desired response:

The Grandé (and other hardtops and fastback) base number is 6561384 while the convertible is 76611A72

While we did not receive the exact desired response to the question, jbojo actually provided a real service (in my opinion) by reminding us how the part numbers are related to the other codes.

Based on the above, I am declaring jbojo the "Winner." Along with bragging rights, jbojo will receive an additional Icon and the option to develop the next "regular" WFQ.

Congratulations, Jbojo!

Wow, thx!!!!

I went and looked at my seatbelts and couldn't find the info either. I pieced together different bits of info that I could find and thought I was completely off.

I'll pass on the option to develop the next WFQ as I don't have the knowledge that many of you have in the specifics of our cars.
thx
