Very cool 71 drag car
#1
Just popped up on one of my CL searches

https://nh.craigslist.org/cto/d/nashua-1...39738.html

One of the things that attracted me to the 71-73 body style was just how badass they looked as a drag car...

A good friend of mine here in OKC drove that car. Search for posts on this site and Google for "Polaris Drag Team". His name is Jerry Baker.

Yes, totally agree these bodies do make mean looking drag cars. Not that I'm in to drag racing, but cool is cool!
As a side bar to this, there is one (or was one) locally. I've not seen it out the last few years but it was a 72 Mach in 4F Medium Lime paint, with a Barry Poole engine. Totally bad ass car.
Geoff.

I learn something new every day!

Can somebody figure out what differential is that? The pumpkin looks bigger than the stock Ford 9 but it is kind of blurry.

The window sticker says its a Dana 60 with 488 gears, I remember seeing it sell at auction, I would have expected it to go for more

Yes auction price was about 35K and I recall thinking I would have tried to bid if I had known it would sell that cheaply

"I love my Hookers!" and "Get some Strange" probably have a different connotation to non automotive enthusiasts!

Jeff, that car seems right down your alley!
