Unknown changes between 71 to 73 models

'71 Mustang's seat back release lever started out in the middle of the seat back, then moved to the side of the seat.  I was under the impression that this was a mid-year change for '71, where early cars had center releases and later 71 cars had side releases, but maybe all 71's had center release levers?

My hot rod is an early (sept. '70) car.  It has center release levers.
