Transmission Neutral Safety Switch
#1
1973 Mach1 C6 Transmission. If your car starts only in park and neutral as it should. Does that mean that the reverse light circuit is good? I can not get my reverse lights to work. I have done the stick the pin to 31/64". That checks out good. I can hot wire the proper pins on the harness and the reverse lights work fine. I moved the neutral safety switch around while in reverse with no luck. Do I need to replace my neutral safety switch? It's the same one I have had on the car since I bought back in 1982. Thank you.

Yes, it sounds like you need a new NSS.

Please go to the Introduction section under the Forum tab and introduce yourself and your car. We like pictures.
