Toploader Crossmember Question
#1
Looking for a crossmember for my 73 Mach 1, will a 70-71 torino crossmember work?

Gas is for cleaning parts, alcohol is for drinkin, nitro is for racin

Don't think the Torino member will fit. what tranny do you have?

Just checked the MPC, Torino unit is definitely different. I may still have a manual trans X-member, will take a look tonight.

Studdley,  the 70-71 Torino and 71-73 Mustangs were dimensionally similar and shared a lot of front end components. Unfortunately the trans cross member is not one of them. The one you need is D1ZZ-6A023-B and was used on all 71-73 MT applications (3 & 4 sp)  except 250 6cyl's. It was also used (1971only) on FMX and C-4 AT V8 applications.
I would give Don @ Ohio Mustang Supply or Mike @ Motor City Mustang a call. They have a good supply of parts cars and parts and have helped a bunch of folks with these type of parts.

Edit....I'm a slow typist. If Hemikiller doesn't have his then I would give the above a call!

Both Don and Mike are great guys. I have purchased from both of them and always quality and honest.

'73 Grandé H Code. Headman long tube headers, T-5 Transmission, 3.70 Traclok, Lowered 1" all around, Aussie 2v heads w/ 2.19 intake, 1.71 exhaust, screw in studs, full roller cam 608/612 lift 280/281 duration LSA 112, Quick Fuel 750 CFM double pumper, AirGap intake.

'73 F code convertible. Bright red. Needs total restore. (IE HOT MESS)
