Top Loader shifter linkage
#1
Hello All,
Does anyone know if there is a difference in the Hurst shifter rods for a 429 CJ vs. a 351 Cleveland?  What are the correct part numbers for the shifter rods for a 429 CJ with a top loader?
Thanks!

picklegt, don't know if you ever went through an introduction when you joined, but welcome to our 71-73 club!
The shifter rods are the same for the 71-73 351C and 71 429 4 speed cars.
1st/2nd gear: D1ZZ-7328-A 12"
3rd/4th gear: D1ZZ-7326-E  19"
Reverse........: D1ZZ-7B112-A 16"
Lock out rod: D1ZZ-7E330-D 11"
There was a change 11/15/71 involving the 3-4 shift rod for the 72-73 4 speed Mustangs. The D2ZZ-7326-B rod was 27/32" shorter  @ 18 5/32".
Hope this info helps you with what you are looking for.   Smile

There is a site (Kickdownrods.com) that should be able to help you.

When you get to the site, scroll down to near the end of the items being offered and you should see the items you need.

BTW, this particular vendor is in a niche market but he is continually adding to his inventory. I have gotten three different kickdown rods from him and they worked out ABSOLUTELY great for my three big block (one 1969 428SCJ tribute, a 472 '73 Grandé and my 545 '73 Mach 1). Tell him that B.T. sent you Wink .
