#1
Very new here so if I error someplace..please advise
looking for a 71 tilt steering column. It'll be going into a 71 cougar vert. What do I need to look for...and where might I find a complete unit.

Thx.

What your going to need is money and luck. I missed out one once and have never bother looking for another since. Maybe Don at Ohio Mustang supply can be of some help also Perogie Enterprise might have one. Happy Hunting.

West Coast Cougar would be a good source.

I think you can use any of the three years, there might be some wiring differences. Also I believe the cougar ones work as well but were typically painted to match the interior.

I swapped one in years and years ago and don't recall any big issues. I sure do like having it. Especially with the long door and in a tight spot.

Thanks fellas. I know I'll need to open the wallet a bit. I'm 6'4" and at 55 getting fat! Perogie said he'd find one for me but haven't heard from him since November. I know finding the correct color might be tough. Should be able to paint I would think. Just want black. Ill be tearing the whole dash out soon for a good clean and parts replacement...don't want to start till I have a column....should I decide to do this again, I asked the wife to just shoot me!
I'll keep looking..?
Thanks again!

LOL. I found it easier and less expensive to lose the weight. I lost 50 lbs and now I don't need the tilt, just a lot of new clothes, but If I hear of any I'll be sure to get that info to you via the Forum. Good luck.
