The young ones dig Mach 1s
#1
Hi all
Went for a run to the local hot dog stand down by the beach with some of my mates 1 in a Aussie charger, orange 500hp small block and 1 wid a 505 stroker 600+hp. Anyway sitting around talking BS listening to all the usual comments, cool cars, had 1 of them, someone I know had 1 of them, how fast is it, how much hp, will you do a burnout. Valiants got the speed,HP wins. Got told my car would be cool if it was a 69 (only after i was asked what year is that stang Huh)Listened to the usual crap about our mustangs being big heavy etc set a few people straight:Angry surprising how many people are authorities on Mustangs but have never owned 1 or driven 1Rolleyes .
The younger ones from say 25 down really like 71-73 mustangs even more than grumpy chargers.Had to rub that fact in with the valiant boysBig Grin Looks like there is hope for the future Smile With a whole lotta young people that appreciate our big stangs because they look cool and have never been biased by some of negative comments that are associated with 71-73 Muzzy's. Anyway It was an awesome day to be out just cruising with your mates Cool If I ever remember that my phone is a camera too I will take some pics of them chargers to post

Luke, it's funny how you pull up with a big fat xa-xc coupe, everyone loves them...
But we pull up with a 71-73 mustang and they just want to criticize.

The good old Valiant Charger, the only Australian car that could turn an average everyday podgy doofus into a chick magnet! (or...so the ads used to tell us....)

That's funny. I was out in the Mach with my Mate that owns a charger a couple of 19-20yr old girls gave me the hey charger sign. You should of seen his face. Gravely insulted that they would confuse a " ford pos for a Aussie legend car " rofl it's true the best things in life are free Tongue

That's gold!

It's not an uncommon thing though, only three weeks ago an elderly bloke walking out of the local Apco servo asked me in passing whether my car was a Charger or a Mustang..
