The Mach 1 is closing in on 1000 miles on the new Motor/Trans
#1
yup, i drove her to work everyday this week and put almost 150 miles on her. i'm sure i'm closing in on 1000 miles on the brand new motor and transmission. i still got 1/3 of a tank left, i guess having the .67 5th gear really nelps when i'm cruising at 60mph on the long haul side roads. i'll gladly report my 460 MPG when i refill back up later this coming week.

after the next coming work week is done, i'm going to put the mustang back on jack stands and remove all the brakes and install the cobra brakes. thats why i need to put miles on the car now. (probably going to gut the interior as well)

Cool! Good going. Glad to hear it's been trouble free miles.

i had a old stock replacement fuel that went bad within the first 300 miles (it was the pump i was using during the drama times with the motor) i replaced it with a summit 130gph pump.

but other than that, i've had zero mechanical issues (but did run into a moroso valve cover leak due to a crack and replaced them with stock valve covers)

Did you put your foot into it yet? How did it run?

yes i've put my foot into it since i got it rolling with the 5spd. and lets just say with the combination of having well over 500ft of tq, the gears of a TKO 600, 3.89 cogs and a 25.7 tall tire and just a humble foot it makes quite a rocketship.

for me to be able to drive in the residential areas, i have to shift, let go of the clutch and then slightly hit the gas. if i hit the gas as i'm letting clutch up it'll want to go faster than 30mph.

when somebody is riding with me, lets just say they are always getting put back into their seat even with slight throttle. its funny to see people try to drink something while i'm shifting or even to just text.

That's awesome! Just make sure no big guy sits on the old, tired, slightly rusted stock seat brackets. I had a 240lb rip the seat off while I punched it LOL! It was a kodak moment! couldn't stop roll'n LOL! Got the replacement seat from brother Don @ OMS Big Grin
