Strut Rods- Reproduction
#1
Hello,

After reading a lot of Mustang forums and articles on the front suspension of the 71-73 mustangs, we must think about how our mustangs are closing in on the 43 year old mark. Wow, 43 years old!! When we rebuild our front suspension, it seems that we replace everything except the front strut rods. You start to wonder on how much wear, tear, and fatigue are on the original strut rods. So, I started to research replacement strut rods and what I have found is there a lot of questions about the quality of the reproduction strut rods. I do not want to but NOS parts. Who has the best replacement strut rods? What about the Grab-A-Track parts? Taiwanese parts? I have read on one of the forums that mentioned having the original strut rods magnafluxed.
What do you think?

Thank You

Hello Qcode351mach,

Yes, I have looked at those nice strut rods. So, there is no noise or road bumps transmitted when driving on the street with these solid mounted adjustable strut rods? Do you drive your Q code on the street occasionally or a lot? How does the front react when going going over not such a good road surface?

Thank You

My Qcode is still in the restoration phase..But I plan on driving it alot on the street winding mountain roads...I really don't think road noise or bumps are going to be an Issue since the strut rod now has a heim joint vs no joint on the stock suspension..I also installed the entire front coil over conversion kit..There should actually be less noise since everything can move freely with no binding..& The coil over is more on par with todays technology vs 1970's stuff

Hello Qcode351mach,

There is this Toyota commercial that talks about the WOW factor. Well, you put the WOW on this one. Let me get my drooling towel out! Wow! I am glad to see someone out there who did this. No, we all want to know how it rides and drives. Thank You for sharing this!
