Strut Rod Sawed Through Frame Hole
#1
Bump from a dead thread... this is important.

I changed my SR bushings and on one side the sleeve sawed through the
bushing hole.

Some aftermarket replacement bushing kits come with a strange cupped washer that will relocate the SR back in the original position.

If you have a 71-3 Stang with original SR bushings you need to check
on this... unfortunately you can't tell until you disassemble the SR.

The special cupped washer must be included as a fix for this common problem?

Paul,
I had the same problem on mine. Built it back up with a MIG, returned shape with a die grinder and sanding rolls. It was a PITA but it worked. Chuck

x2 for me. You really should put metal back in there to do it right.
