Steering box. Steer me in the right direction...

This is what I did tonight. Both leaks bad enough I can't drive it anymore.

Thoughts on buying remaned from NAPA? Price seems reasonable.

Seems other threads say it's a bear trying to replace the seals in the box.

Go to "redhead gears". They will sell you a reman'd steering box that is upgraded and much better than a stock OEM-style reman'd unit.
They will also put a custome gear ratio in to make the steering much quicker if you want...all for about the same price as a typical sloppy reman'd unit from elsewhere.
Highly recommended.

I'll call them. I think you posted about them previously. I hope they have one in stock they can ship out. Can't really wait three weeks. Thanks for the info!

I just got mine back from Redhead yesterday. Talk to Court. He's one of thier lead techs and was very helpful. I did the quick ratio conversion as well.

Great thanks. I will talk to him. Whoever the "kid" was I talked to said "he can't guarantee they can do a quicker ratio"
Also the person at NAPA said they wouldn't recommend sending mine out to whatever company it is they use for remans.

Redhead most definitely will do a quicker-ratio box for you. You gotta talk to Cort, he's the guy there.
