I prefer an H pipe, it has a more traditional sound than the x pipe that can sound pretty raspy

90% of us would be fine with a 2 1/2 exhaust to the mufflers and a 2 1/4 out from there. 3" all the way out the back can be done on cars without staggered shocks. With the staggered shocks it is hard to do, but shock relocation to the standard position is simple enough and makes sense if you have any aftermarket traction devices added. 3" exhausts are loud, and expensive.

I would go with a traditional style muffler. By staying with something that has a common size, muffler swaps to change the sound will be relatively cheap and easy.

If you want a real cacophony, add some cut outs ahead of the mufflers.

if you want it, a prefab kit is available http://www.mustangsunlimited.com/Mustang...ustang.axd when you look at the mufflers, be aware that the pypes violator muffler is very loud. It is an x pipe, but given the potential cost savings it might be worth considering

"I love my Hookers!" and "Get some Strange" probably have a different connotation to non automotive enthusiasts!

H pipe with 2.5" worked well for me with a similar setup. I added a cut off valve for when i want it to be loud. The mufflers are Dynomax Turbos.

Agree with 2 1/4" or 2 1/2". Had both with the mention Hooker Comp headers.

I like the Dynomax Super Turbos, mellow sound that gets loud when you really tromp on it. Flowmasters are just too noisy/droney for my tastes anymore.

If you have staggered shocks, it's a bit of a trick on driver's side tail pipe.
