Special VIP WFQ for September 1, 2012
SUPERSTARS!

In honor of Labor Day, this week's VIP Weekly Fun Question has an additional award consisting of a $100.00 store credit with Ohio Mustang Supply.

The Problem:

Which of the following "Vehicle Certification Label(s)" is not correct for the 1971, 1972 or 1973 Mustang called out on the label? The correct response will identify the correct choice(s) and identify what (if any) data is incorrect for the application.

a. Date: 11/70 VIN: 1T03H138402
Body: 76D Color: 6 Trim: 1A Axle:5 Trans:5 DSO: 41

b. Date: 03/72 VIN:2F05H158823
Body: 63R Color:2B Trim: AAB Axle: L Trans: X DSO: 75

c. Date:04/73 VIN:3F04Q224841
Body: 65F Color:6E Trim: GFA Axle: R Trans: U DSO:11

d. Date:06/73 VIN:3F02L239412
Body:63D Color:3F Trim: AA Axle: 2 Trans:1 DSO:96

The First VIP Member to post up with the desired response, to include the correct explanation (if applicable) as to why the cited "Vehicle Certification Label" is invalid for the application will be declared the "Winner."

This exercise will terminate at approximately 7:00 PM (CST) on Monday, September 3, 2012.

Good Luck!

BT
The desired response is a, b and d are incorrect. Specifically:

a. There were No "5" coded (wide ratio 4-speed) 351 2V Convertibles built in 1971

b. VIN 3F05H158823 is invalid for a Mustang built in March of 1972. The 03/72 numbers would have been 161800 - 192200 (There is a recent post breaking down the numbers).

c. This could have been a valid "Vehicle Certification Label"

d. Color 3F (Grabber Blue) in 1972 was not available in 1973
None

A) Axle. A 7 1/4" rear end would not be put in a V8 car.
B) Axle. The "L" rear end was N/A in '72.
C) Paint/Trim combo. That combo not built in a hardtop.
D) Paint. No "3F" available.

Or at least that's my guess.

SUPERSTARS!

I regret to inform y'all that no one provided the desired responses to the problem.

To repeat:

Which of the following "Vehicle Certification Label(s)" is not correct for the 1971, 1972 or 1973 Mustang called out on the label? The correct response will identify the correct choice(s) and identify what (if any) data is incorrect for the application.

d. Date:06/73 VIN:3F02L239412

c. This could have been a valid "Vehicle Certification Label"

d. Color 3F (Grabber Blue) in 1972 was not available in 1973

All I can say is that maybe there will be BETTER luck at the next "Periodic VIP Special WFQ."

Wow. Too tough for me (once again). It's interesting information, but I hafta be honest: the only reason I'm in the VIP area is because I sent along my $25.00... not because I know any more or less particulate Mustang data than anybody in the General Population.
