Submitting my 71 Convertible "Mach 1 Tribute" for car of the month. Her name is Beauty and she is numbers matching M Code with a 4 speed, one of only 176 built with this driveline in 71. The previous owner did the paint and added the Mach 1 stripes and I love it. Definitely a car Ford SHOULD have built. I found her on eBay back in February and had a national car inspection company check her out for me. Here is what she looked like that day...

Here she is 6 weeks later when she was delivered...

The paint and engine work was already done. The suspension was completely shot as were the brakes and steering components. Sent her to a shop in Dallas where she spent 6 weeks getting that work done along with a new convertible top, Classic Auto Air installed and this after market gauge setup.

Soon after that I replaced the modern 17" wheels with a Magnum 500 setup with BFG Radial TA tires and here is how she looks today.

The final touch was a set of personalized license plates

It is a modern unit made to fit our cars. Can't remember the name off the top of my head. I'll dig through my paper work later and let you know.

totally awesome. Is she hydraulic or solid lifters? I believe the M code is for having 4 main bolts holding the motor in? Since you have non stock wheels, are you looking at anyother upgrade?

Great looking car, I like the modern wheels better but I am no purist. I was looking for a vert when I bought mine. Was impatient and the only vert I saw was I need of rear sub frame replacement.

Bright lime 72 Mach 1 with 351C 4V, with summit 600 carb(have a Holley too), Edelbrock dual-plane manifold, Hooker headers, 3 inch exhaust with flowmasters, 17 inch Eleanor wheels, FMX tranny, A/C, P/S, front disks and 350 rear gear. Drive it to work every day.

I really don't know much about the internals of the motor. She runs so well there hasn't been any reason to go into the motor. My guess is it is all stock except for the cam, intake and carb. If she ever does need a rebuild I want to build it as close to Boss specs as possible.
