Saw a 71 429CJ Mach 1 at a car show today
Our local club held its annual car show today, and a nice green 429 CJ Mach 1 showed up, but did not enter the show field. The car was in very good shape! I went to take a look at it, and saw it had a tach dash but no three gauge cluster in the center.

I scratched my head for a while, and decided it came with a standard dash, but had been upgraded to RCC's tach cluster. I can't think of any reason why else it had this unusual configuration. As far as I know, all tach dashes in 1971 had three gauge center clusters; some standard dashes had the three gauge clusters (discontinued in 1972) and some did not.

Anyone know differently?

The hood was not opened, but it did say 429 on the hood, so I presume it came from the factory that way.

Let me check your shorts!

Or it could have been "added" like my car...
