Repainting the 71-73 Mustang...
Over the years I have had a lot of cars, and repainted many of them. I must say the 71-73 Mach 1 has got to be the easiest car to paint I've ever run across. Hardly any chrome trim to mask off, no emblems to mask and what there is to mask is easy...no ibtricate details areas requiring a lot of attention.
I have painted mine eighttimes over the years ( five by me), and I could almost do it in my sleep now.
Throw some black on the bottom, run a tape line across it and lay down the main color. The ram air tutone adds another pretty easy step.
By contrast, my 79 Mark V was a nightmare to remove all the shiny trim. Masking thar car was a chore. And it took a lot of paint!
The painting isn't a problem, it's all the prep. There's a lot of sheet metal there to prep. My 72 could stand to be painted, I just don't have the time to prep it to my standard.
