Refinish Or Buy New Dash
#1
I would like to know if anyone here can provide insight as to whether it is better to buy new camera black dash panels for the interiro, or is it preferred to having an original panel refurbished?

Has anyone done anything creative that they can share a photo of? Graphite? Don't need to see purple.

Since the new ones came out and are good.
It is cheaper to buy new VS getting the originals rechromed and painted.

Yeah, like that.

I'm sure the pictures don't do those justice. Why don't you wrap those up and send them over to me to have a better look?

Did you post how to do this?

If Roy comes back saying he did that himself and posts some instructions, I am SO all over that for mine.

If not, 3M Di-NOC Black CF tape it is.

Yeah, I knew he'd done the water transfer process. I was saying that if he'd done it himself and had instructions, I'd do it myself. I have a hard time paying someone else to do stuff I can do myself (I guess that makes me cheap or something). I'm pretty sure there is nobody doing water transfer around here, so it I imagine it would be pricy. **Edit - I take it back... there's a place that does it here - I'll hafta check in with him when it's time to do the parts.

Airbrushing is no big deal - I learned how to do Tru-Fire (it's really not that hard), and was thinking about doing carbon fiber using the same method - just never got around to it.

Here's a bad picture of the dashboard I did on my pal Jim's '75 Jeep CJ-5.
