What springs do you have right now? They can't be original if you are riding high in the back end. I bought after market springs for my 72 Mach 1 and it ended up being a bit high in the back I ended up using 1 inch lower blocks which coupled with the leaf springs relaxing after a couple of months gave me a good ride height. You have to take into account the spring rate. Too much (lbs per inch) and it will ride like an empty dump truck.

The reason your rear end sits too high may be spring rate, not eye location. If the new springs are lower rate and have reverse eyes you may wind up being too low.

The free arch of a leaf spring (a spec that is provided by the leaf spring manufacturer) can also give you an idea of the ride height. To my knowledge the stock Boss 351 leaf springs had the least amount of free arch. The more free arch the greater the ride height.
