Rear disc brake conversion
#1
I am in the process of converting the rear drums to disc brakes. My car ( '73 Q code) is apparently the small bearing 9" (3.50 Posi). I have all of the parts from a large bearing 9" rear end (lincoln Versailles) to do a disc brake conversion. My question is: will the disc brake flanges work on the smaller set up/ and has anybody done this? One major concern is that the disc flange is also thicker than the drum was. Thanks for your help!

i've done cobra conversion in the rear from a small bearing but never would i think a large bearing conversion will work.

www.vintagevenom.com

those two sites could help alot, however if you do this and keep the fronts the OEM, ur rear brakes will be .5 bigger. i think it'll be okish as long as you put an adjustable valve in there and adjust it accordingly.
