Quarter panel replacement
#1
Are the full quarters being reproduced yet or still the quarter panel skins are the only available reproduction panel?
Thanks

Full quarters are not reproduced at this time. Good luck finding some good NOS full quarters without having to break the bank ($600-800 each seems like the average - but I've also seen upwards of $1200 each before).

The quarter panel skins that are available, don't quite make it all the way up to the quarter window body line.

They do, however, wrap around the door jamb opening, as well as around the back-end to the tail light panels, as you can see in this pic:

Be careful welding them in, however. They are thin metal and warp VERY easily (again, as you can see in the pic).

Hope this helps.

Couldn't tell ya, as I've only got a Mach 1 to work with. Wink

I also don't recall for sure, but there might (might) be some different quarter panel skins for coupes and 'verts.

I bought an NOS quarter panel from Ponderosa, site vendor, and it
was not that expensive.

Don't tease me, Bro. rofl

If I could find a pair of NOS full quarters for less than $900-1000, I'd rip the whole back end of my car off and do it all over again. Dodgy

He had a pair, I bought the left one.
He offered them for $500 each, I made an offer
and he countered, done deal.

Because it was a coupe & you got lucky..in the right place at the right time..The aftermarket qtrs can be installed quite nicely IF done properly..It's easily triple the amount of time vs a full o.e.m otr..FOR A SEAMLESS REPAIR..I have yet to see a set of aftermarkets installed without an overlap vs a butt weld..I'm sure a few have done it I just haven't seen it yet..Dead give away when you open the trunk & see the overlap..You would think at the bare minimum if your doing an overlap youd hide the seam inside the trunk..I guess some just don't want to pay for the extra labor..

My car already had the rear quarters replaced long before i got it. And they were overlapped and look like sh*t inside the trunk. Not bad on the outside but as scott said as soon as you open the trunk and look inside you can see the line of the seam. The monkeys that installed them originally even pop riveted them in place in a few spots. Im probably gonna run mine a few more years and enjoy it some more before i tear it down again for a repaint. But when I do repaint, Im either going to try to find full quarters or cut the old ones out and do a properly butt seam. And grind the seam inside too so it disappears. Drives me nuts everytime I open the trunk. But not enough to repaint whole car anytime soon. Probably 3-5 years i hope to get out of this paint.

I have a left side NOS quarter panel I'd like to sell, It's in very good condition. I'll entertain any reasonable offer.
