Picture request for you vert owners - seat top
#1
Hey all you vert owners! I have a special request for you.

After a year and a half of ownership, I finally tried installing the boot (I think that's what you call it)... the cover for teh top while it's down.

Mine fits great, but I seem to be missing some trim at the top o fmy rear seat for the boot to fit into.

Can one of you post a picture of that trim area so I can see visually what I may be missing?

Thanks in advance!!

PS, maybe I have finally come up with something I can buy from Don! Big Grin

the boot had a Plastic strip, that fits into a channel on the top of the seats, its a chrome strip.
I'll see if I can take a picture for you later on today when I get home.

Exactly... I think my seat is missing the trim, as my boot's plastic strip has no channel to fit in on the top of the seat like there is along the top of the fenders and in front of the trunk.

It is a strip with a channel - screws to the back of the rear seat upper section
I have a couple - I'll see if I can get a pic

Cool. I think my top guys did the same thing. I remember I had to do something with it and thought 'how can you get that wrong??'.

WOW that one on Ebay is overpriced (IMHO). Maybe if it was NOS.

I am glad I got my car 30 years ago and have done most of what I wanted to it. I still have money to spend on it, don't get me wrong, but the prices are getting crazy.

So, I need to remove the rear seat and back cushion to get this corrected, since whoever did this screwed the piece into the front side of the well liner.

Correct me if I'm wrong, please: I have to remove the seat first, by pushing it back then pulling up in the front. Then, there are a couple of nuts holding the back cushion in place.

Does the trim piece in question screw into the back side of the cushion, or the back side of the well liner?
