painting steering column
#1
I was looking at painting my steering column and ideally would like to remove everything from the housing. I don't know how practical that is. Anyone know what's involved in removing the internals should I just try and tape everything off.
Thanks for any input!

well it CAN be done.... I would remove the column and tape everything off. No real need to remove the wiring harness unless you intend to repair the wiring.

I Always paint colums when they are installed in the car , thats an easy job...
Once i removed a colum , painted it and intalled it , the freshly painted column was all scratched up when done..
It can be done , but i only would choose that option when the column is badly rused.
