Paint choice.
#1
I finally decided what color to paint my 71 Coupe. After many hours and viewing endless pictures I decided to go with a 2012 Ford Gem Green code # W-6 a very dark almost black green metallic with silver argent stripes. We sprayed several small parts Friday and I think it looks amazing. Will post pictures as soon as I can.

Looks are important. The question is do you paint it the original color (red which I personally don't like) a true 71 color or go with something you like! I was looking on line for a new F-150 pick up and stumbled on the Gem Green by accident. When I went to the local dealership to see the truck the salesman and I walked by the truck twice before we realized it. It was a cloudy day and the truck looked black. My car was originally red then painted black with a funky flame job. Next question is do I buy a truck the same color as my car! The fun never stops.

Well if you were doing a concourse resto on the car I'd say original color was the way to go,but you're doing some mods to it so paint it whatever color you want.

As for the truck.....why not!

If it was a rare car then restore it, sell it, and buy one you can enjoy and do what you want to with it

You are both right. If it was a rare car or bought to show I would paint it the original color. I bought mine to drive, enjoy and to make it mine! Ah the plans I have Champange taste on a light beer buget come to mind. I have spent thousands so far and have enjoyed every moment. When I'm done I will have more into it than it's worth but it will be done the way I want.
