Painless wiring kit in my '73 Mach-1
I have a Painless Wiring kit for my '68 mustang coupe. I bought it with the plan of dual electric fans, high output alternator, stereo system (deck, speakers, subwoofers, amps), Autometer gauges.. Since I'm going to do the same exact thing to my '73 Mach-1, can I use the same exact wiring kit?
Do a part number search for your 73 and see if they come up the same. If they don't, just look and find out what the difference is. You could probably call and find out quickly.

That's sort of my problem. They don't sell a kit for the 71-73 mustangs. They stop at '70. I was just wondering if anyone knows if the wiring is all that different.
Check with our vendor Midlife. Sure he can help you out.

Is it a universal? or specific for 68s?
Its specific to '67-'68's. They have one for '69-'70' and they also have a universal kit as well.
Not sure of specific differences in painless wiring between so called kits as I have only used universals and modified them for my application...my suggestion would be to lay it out and check it for proper lengths. Everything else should be ok as far as equipment and location. But you can still modify the kit.
Ok. Thank you. I appreciate it.

I used a universal kit from summit. I think no matter what you get, you'll still have to "make up" some of it as you go. My kit worked fine... and had allot of extra wire...
That's nice to know. I'm thinking, since I'm going to rewire the while car, it probably doesn't matter what kit I use.
