Original AM/FM radio repair?
#1
The original AM/FM radio will not work. Years of desert driving with the top down have taken a toll on this piece and was full of fine dirt and dust... I will look to have it repaired.

My question is the issue of having this repaired. Is it feasible/cost effective and if so, whom do I send it to for a nice repair?

does this radio work?
if it does, then it will just need a good clean up, if it doesn't I have seen online a few places that will gut the radio, and install modern electronics in it, offering Bluetooth and other features, but looking and operating as the stock. its about $400-$500 to do that.

There is a guy here in Rhode Island that does it, let me know if this is something your interested in, and I'll lookup in contact info.

I bought a radio off of a guy in Canada through eBay. Search for seller "dales-nin" the radio was fully serviced and it works great. Plus I benefited from the exchange rate at the time. I just searched on eBay for him and he still has radios listed. He may be nearby you and willing to take a look at yours.

Thanks. I have touched base with him to see what he can offer. he is in London, Ont. which is only about 1 1/2hrs from me.

No go... I was hoping it would be only a good clean up. I am keeping my options open on what to do with this. For now, I am going to try and have this repaired or if I can find an operating one reasonable I would purchase outright.

I have an AM-8track in my car, it had a missing belt, I found an old 8-track stereo with the proper size belt, I think its 13"

here is a video if my Radio, and the minor Mod I did to it so I can have AM- FM-8-track and all of the stock functions
