Don't think we have titles for cars that old in Alabama. May be wrong but that's what I've been told by several people. Bill of sale gets you a tag on a 71 at the DMV. Do appreciate the caution though.

Huh Never heard that before! Ask Don65stang, he has a multitude of old Mach 1's (he's in Alabama), he'll be able to give you the straight skinny on it. Otherwise it's a nice looking car, definitely worth a look if the title doesn't give you grief.

Pre 75 and a bill of sale gets the application for a title. Still have to get a title its just not as hard since none were issued prior to 75.

He has a multitude? Man that's gravy!!

Gotcha. They must run it to make sure it's not stolen. That's pretty cool.

Yup, a multitude! Big Grin

There is NO title for any car pre 1974 in Alabama. Never has been, never will be. It's Bill of Sale only that needs to be wittnessed by 2 people. You can read about it on the states DMV website.

You guys are lucky! Does the bill of sale need to be notarized, or just witnessed?

Also, if it's already tagged in Alabama then it's not flagged as a stolen car and is good to be registered in any other state. It's the ones that haven't been registered in Alabama coming into Alabama from another state & that owner doesn't have a title...that's where problems begin.

I looked at the ad. If the car has rust it's not a $12,500 car in my opinion no matter how good it looks.
