One of the Odd Ball Mustangs due to fire.

I had told Ray I would post the pictures when I found my cable for download.
Ok we had our local Mustang club show at the Ford Dealership in Hendersonville, NC., on Aug. 18 I believe. I had invited a guy I went to school with he has quite and extensive collection of lots of different cars. Challenger, 73 Mustang Mach 1, 62 Galaxie, 64 Thunderbird and more. I had asked him to bring his Mach 1 and he did. Very original car had been painted but engine bay mostly original and interior original.
After I got my car in the show I went over to look at his and first thing that jumped out was the solid vinyl inserts in the Mach 1 Sports Interior. Late in the year of the 1973 production there was a fire at the company that supplied the Comfort Weave material to Ford. When the current inventory ran out Ford had to change to another material. As you can see on the door sticker this car was made pretty late in the year. There could have been cars made with a different color after this say a white or green until their stocks ran out also.
So if you see a 1973 Mach 1 and it has solid inserts do not think they are cheap knock off and not correct. They are pretty rare to find for sure not as comfortable as as the comfort weave but was the solution Ford had.
Any other members with a 73 with the solid material? This type info needs to be put somewhere to inform others.
My 73 Mach 1 was made in May and had comfort weave inserts his in June and did not. Also he has black belts and mine has Ginger. I did have deluxe belts maybe made a difference. It is an H code car.
Yes he knows no Mag. 500 in 73 but that is what he likes.

That has been discussed quite a bit and several members were posting build dates on here a long time ago
