officially part of the club
#1
I'm officially part of the club. Just picked up a super clean California car project car. Hope I didn't miss anything in the inspection but I guess well find out when we take her apart.

Thank everyone on the forum that helped me in my search and I'm looking forward to all the future interactions with other forum members!

She's not much to look at but she'll look great when she's done.

My plans are to change her to a red with white interior/top.

I guess you can see more than I can, cause that doesn't look to bad from that pic.....really more along the lines of a daily than a dump. lol
(I actually like the dark brown w/ the tan top)

And on painting it red, while it's totally your call w/ your car. If that's the original color I would sort of try to keep it that way....cause I think there's plenty of red cars out there as it is,lol And you don't see some colors very often (if ever) even though they were offered. (like special order colors)

And I will tell you.....w/ my car being in that category it can be pretty cool driving that's a bit different lol
(especially when you can say it's the original color)

Also as I'm sure you've heard.....if you want to know more about your car (since you don't know what the color is/was) get a marti report

Although I love white interiors on verts I gotta warn you. It's impossible to drive with the top down and keep the interior clean. At least not without major devotion to cleaning.
Ask me how I know. :/
It does look cool though.
Don't say nobody warned you. Smile

Welcome... cool vert. Doesn't really look like a project car in the pix you posted. Good luck.

Very nice. You've got some nice features. Being built in June makes it close to one of the last to be built.

Interested to know what the special color was??? If you lift the carpet snap a picture of the floor pan, those are usually the only remnants of the original color if it ever had a repaint. Looks to be a nice car. Enjoy it and keep us posted on your progress as you move along.
