Not a happy camper
#1
After all the bodywork and paint and repairs, after having all the badge holes and the antenna holes filled, I found out something really awesome today, and I don't know why I didn't find it sooner: my passenger fender is from a '73.

Now I need the correct '72 fender, and have to pay for all the bodywork and paint that goes along with it...again...Angry

Rant over.

I have a 71/72 that I would gladly exchange for a 73 but I am not sure how soon I could get the exchange made - if something like that would help you out.

Oh that stinks like rotten potatoes. Sorry to hear this bud. I'm sure I have a 71/72 fender around here somewhere. Let me know if you don't find one more locally.

Yeah that sucks but not a hard fix

Thanks guys, I appreciate the offers. I'll look around locally first since truck freight is a killer. I'll throw a "WTB" ad up if I can't find anything.

It's an easy, expensive fix. The passenger side on my car was so freaking messed up.

One word of advice from someone who had to replace fenders with repro,,,, DON'T.
Use oem if at all possible

Jim: I never noticed since the front was kind of jacked. I only noticed when putting it back together.

Jenny: some stuff is ok for repro, but the big things I'd rather not. I saw your story with the fender. No thanks!

I'm sure one will turn up nearby. I can't even begin to count the times I bought a part long distance only to find the same part locally a few weeks later. Not every part but many of them. There has to be a junk yard or someone parting one out somewhere nearby.
