New wheels/tires - need torque specs
#1
Just ordered a Magnum 500 wheel and tire package from CJPonyParts: http://www.cjponyparts.com/wheel-vintiqu.../p/W17S-V/

They are 15x7 and 15x8 with 225/60x15 and 275/60x15 BFGoodrich Radial T/A tires. Includes center caps and valve stems.

I've always loved the looks of these wheels/tires on the 71-73s and I just won't be happy with mine until it sports them. Since they come "bolt-on" ready I'll just install them myself. Does anyone know the proper torque specs for the lug nuts?

I can't find the specs at the moment. I found it once years ago and have been using 90 lb/ft for many years without a problem. Since the wheel are new I'd re-torque them after 50-100 miles of use. Chuck

I've always heard between 90 and 100. How can anyone say that our year cars don't have best looking vert... awesome looking car. Post another picture when you get the new tires/wheels installed.

I've seen a few wheels where 100 ft/lbs would actually start to deform the metal on the rim and lug nut. Its not a big deal until you remove and reinstall the wheels a bunch of times and start noticing the wear. So I stick to 90 ft/lbs.
