New Seat Upholstery
Ok Gents, I plan to re-upholster my bucket seats this year, I am going to beef up the bottom frame a bit, being a welder by trade I am hoping to re-enforce the frame a bit, straighten the backs out and get some new foam and upholstery. Does anybody have any hints or tips for getting the upholstery straight and tight?
Baby powder, heat gun, and a helper with some muscles. Some guys put plastic bags over the new seat foam to help the cover slide easier in stead of baby powder. Lots and lots of hog rings and listing wires. A lot of mine broke so I used coat hangers cut to length for new listing wires.

That's the same advice I would offer as well. When you get the hog ring pliers, get the ones with the bent handles - they worked much better for me (I bought both, and only used the bent ones).

I didn't think of the baby powder, but I did use the plastic bag trick which worked like a charm.

I had good luck with zip ties and surgical pliers.
