new graphics ideas
#1
So I am going to be starting on paint and body myself pretty soon. I have some ideas for new graphics that I wanted to visualize on the car before I put them down forever in paint. I am going for a modified mach 1 mid body stripe. The car is going to be a carbon black metallic. The original color is grabber lime, so I wanted to incorporate that somehow into the new scheme. The following pictures are of the process and what I came up with. Let me know what you guys think.

I like the way it looks. Why not continue to the rear wheel opening?

Are you going to do the hood graphics the same?

I like were your going! My parts car has the stripe painted on. Check out how the P/O stopped the stripe over top of the side marker light.

I am going to do the hood graphic the same, I have thought about doing the boss paint scheme on the hood once I get a ram air style hood, but for now I will just do the center stripe on the inset of the factory hood.

Maybe close in the ends of the stripe with the green?

How about trying a stripe that fades out towards the rear like the 2004 Mach 1 uses on the bottom of the side. Would probably look cool with the wide stripe you pictured. The fade out gives it a look of speed.
Just a thought.

All good input, what do you guys think of that lime stripe? You can see in the picture from the rear forward on the bottom of the rocker where original paint is showing through, best way I could think of paying homage to the car's paint. I keep expecting it to glow in the dark when I turn the garage lights off at night!!!

3 things that the final paint will not have are the lower rocker panel area in black, I will do body color all the way to the bottom of the metal and only the stripe I painted (or some variant of it) will remain on the sides. The second, which isn't even paint, is that there won't be any fender emblems after body work is complete. The third is that I am not 100% on the MUSTANG in the stripe. Might go with the engine size instead in the end, which will be a 429. What you think?

I'd say engine size instead of "Mustang", especially if its gonna be a 429!
