Has anyone had any luck with a non oem 2 hood scoop hood?

I would steal the one off of the Mustang serving as the site poster boy if I knew where to find it.

I understand someone is making hoods from the "original" tooling, but all I care about is that it fits, and is strong, and will buckle upon impact. Because when the throttle sticks on my newly installed carburetor and I slam into the wall at the end of my cul de sac I don't want to get my head chopped off.

I have heard good and bad about them...Some are so thin...Horse heavens hills stangs showed me a 71-73 nasa repo hood that was suposta be thicker than original...But the steel was so thin you could flex it with your fingers...Then we tried it on original...No dice..lol...Maybe they make them better now...That was like 8 years ago.
