my dream car
#1
SO my coupe is not awesome yet, but would like to see how it would look if it were done. I think the paint I have decided on is the Medium Blue Poly or a variation of it offered in 1971. I have a standard hood and have been wondering what a Boss paint scheme on the hood with a shaker system installed would look like. I found some modern Foose wheels that I like. I am going to delete the vinyl roof and will do Obsidian's tail lights and a honeycomb panel with the flip gas cap and no rear spoiler. I will probably build a custom grille, but for now will just paint it all black and leave the Mustang chromed. I have attached some pictures to help you guys out. Thanks!

I'd like the tai lights as well. Hopefully obsidian doesn't have to much more fuss with what he's going through.

I haven't decided on if I want a rear spoiler or not. I don't like the coupes flat trunk lid but the spoilers IMO don't flow with the lines like on a fastback. What I'd love to create is a California special style rear end.

Pretty much like this particular Shelby Europa.

I think the little flare up would would suite the coupe very nice. I've even started making a mock up out of cardboard but I need to finish more body work before i can make it presentable to you guys.

My vision has been all over the place. I've changed my mind on so any things, but now 3yrs later I know pretty much what I want, and how to tie it all in. It's just a F code coupe so there's really no reason not to. I'm doing all the work myself.

It's a learning experience for sure. However you seem to have a better plan than I had.

Those wheels look cool, what size you planning to go with. I'm going to try an stay around 17" max, but that's just me I don't care for big wheels. I may go for 18s if I can pull off the stance I want.

I like that spoiler. I am one day going to mock up a 07-09 shelby gt500 style spoiler for mine. I agree that the spoiler does not flow with our car, but as a younger man, I thought it was necessary...dummy, now there are holes in my deckled and it is severely warped due to the weight of the spoiler.

Is the spoiler that heavy? Wow. I'm only 26yo but I've never been a fan of spoilers. I like smooth lines I've even toyed with the idea of removing the drip rails. But it's to much work to make it look right once their gone so for the sake of my OCD they will stay.

The shaker on a flat hood is a interesting idea. I'd love to see ones photoshop skills put that together.

Yeah I had the spoiler on there for 11 years and if the holes weren't there it would probably hold water like a bowl where the pedestals sat. Crazy huh. I am hoping to be able to follow the lines of the cars vertical line along the quarter panel at the rear of the car to help shape the edges of the shelby style spoiler. It would be low and not too long.
