My 71 on MustangMedic.com
#1
William over at MustangMedic.com has featured my car in two short video clips. I enjoy his videos and he currently has two 71s and two 72s in his shop. Check them out if you get the chance.

Pretty Cool...But I've got to say I'm not impressed with the work they do..

Especially when I see this...THIS is NOT how you seal a cowl for a lasting repair

We can only hope to aspire to acheive the level that you were apparently born with.

I actually discussed this and another similar project with him after the videos were posted. These two particular projects were supposedly the direction requested (and cost limitations) from his clients.

It really wasn't directed toward you. That was for our resident critic.

i like that he is a "restorer" yet all he does is basic maintenance and spray paints everything he can black because he goes the next level with restorations. subs out motors, transmissions, has someone else come to rebuild carbs, subbed out a convertible top, he does brakes and spray paints stuff. from what ive seen he does basic shade tree stuff, but presents himself as a mustang restoration shop. i dont look for a middle man when i take my cars to a shop, i take them to a shop.

You know actually it is the shade tree stuff that I like the most about the videos. I am not a mechanic/body guy and had originally planned to sub all my work out but after watching the series I decided my comfort level and did some of the work myself. I found out I have a small, but untrained knack for it.

It gave me something in common with my dad who loves this stuff. We have enjoyed the process together. William at MM has been great offering basic tips and pointing me towards others when he did not know the answer.

I wasn't born with it..It's been a long hard road & dedication to my craft..There's also something few people adhere to today..it's called PRIDE in your work..To send sub par work out the door of your shop with your name on it says one thing about you..You could care less about the customer & quality.. all you care about is making a buck..Just because the customer wanted that done sub par means jack..Thats a B.S. excuse..I TURNED away plenty of work in those situations..WHY..Because I took pride in my work & wouldn't attach my name to a sub standard repair..The proper way to handle those situations is to explain to the customer why that repair isn't right..explain the correct way..& if they can't afford it then wait till they can..This way they pay once for the repair..instead of twice..If they don't get it.. then decline the repair..That is..IF YOU take PRIDE in what you do..

Your 100% correct..When I see crappy work your darn straight I'm going to criticize it..ESPECIALLY FROM SOMEONE who claims to be an expert..Hopefully it will save a member here some grief

Instead of criticize try to explain the difference and correct the procedure. I to have thought he should be calling his shop a repair (basic) shop but that the information he supplies is what alot of novice people like and want to do. It does not have to be perfect to be a driver as long as it is not represented as a complete #1 or 2 do it the way you feel comfortable with. To me Mustang Medic is like a builder that uses sub trades for most of the work.

I get it believe me I do...Every body has different wants, needs, & pockets..I've seen it all...I've been more than generous informing how to do things right give advice..putting together how to videos etc.. When I point out an incorrect procedure sub standard repair by someone who does this for a living=taking someones money for a sub standard repair..I view this as a service to the community.. Take a look through my posts here..there's plenty with pictures on how to do it right..or you can view my videos...Enuff said
