Mustang Fastback
71 302 Fastback, FMX Transmission, Front seats are believed to be from a Mazda MX5!

It has an aftermarket wiring harness made by Kwick Wire.  Engine is from a Later Gen Mustang. 1 believe 1980?

Car left the factory White with a RED interior!   No idea what ever happened to that?  Car has badly damaged front crossmember, but drives and stops in a straight line  Discs all round, no Idea what calipers have been used, damage to rear RH floor pan.

Rear Quarter on Drivers side may have been changed or repaired at some point.

Bought the car with my heart and did no research Sad

Needs a Lot of work!

Hello,
Hear that a lot that people buy the car without knowing what they are getting into.
Hope it works out. I have parts car with good front suspension stuff. I am in NC.
If you have not done an introduction please do so.

Hi David,
I have just recently returned from the Nascar Finals at Homestead Miami, while I was over in the USA

I got a lot of new parts from NPD, CJ Pony and Macs delivered to my friends apartment to take home,  this included a New front crossmember and rear quarter floor pan, New Door mirrors, Weatherstripping, 3 Point seatbelts and loads of other small stuff,  Complete windscreen washer system inc pump and nozzles, bottle,

The Wiring was done by a so called Professional company in the USA  (I have many Invoices for work done on the car),  all I can say is it was done by a complete Idiot!  the way things have been spliced together is a Joke and I am most likely going to have to pay a Auto electrician to start over from scratch!

I have checked all the bulbs in the instrument cluster and they all work, but when you turn on the ignition, none of the warning lights illuminate.  The A/C Radiator fan and the Main radiator fan are wired to the car heater fan switch, (so if you turn off the heater fan switch, the car overheats)!  There are no electrical thermostats to either radiator.  Interior light also does not work.  (I don't think it's wired up).

So its going to be a Hell of a project to get this car safe to drive on the road.  Front windscreen sadly, also has a crack in it!

I will also have to find a good company in the UK to do the chassis work for me.

Now did you take all that back on the plane of ship it? Looks like it has a vinyl roof which I like myself. WOW can't believe there are NASCAR fans in UK. I went to my last NASCAR race in 1969 in Talladaga Alabama. That was such a screwed up race most of the big name drivers loaded up and left. Lots of issues with the track and tires would not take the speeds. NASCAR sent a letter and 4 free tickets to the next race and I never went back.
You must really like the looks of these cars to invest so much effort. Hope it all works out.

NASCAR IS GREAT, not much TV Coverage in the UK, My first race was last year at Homestead, we enjoyed the weekend so much that we went back again this year.

Next time consider Detroit in Aug. Woodward for the cars all week/Nascar at MIS for the weekend!

Mark
P.S. Doesn't hurt that there is a BIG show at Ford world headquarters and vintage races on Monday IF you haven't had enough

I would say that was a well planned trip. If you ever go to Cuba take some vintage emblems with you and you can make some money. 1961 back only. 1955 , 56, 57 Ford and Chevy would be good choice and convertible. If you have an old car in Cuba and it is restored to a level set by the government you can haul tourists. From airport to downtown Havana costs $25.00 USD that is a months pay from government.
