I think the year before that they crashed into 65 or 66 Shelby that stood on the side of the road. Undecided

It sounded nice and seemed to go very well right up to when it died, shame! The hood was a strange shape even before the crash, kind of peaked in the middle of the leading edge?

If you read the comments, Peter was upbeat. They found it rotting away and he felt that at least they gave it some life before it wrecked. I like that outlook. They have a 72 they are transplanting the running gear into.

Yes thanks, I've seen most of the youtube stuff.
Rotten, previously damaged or not, it still doesn't explain the strange shaped hood that i mentioned.
Whatever, it was a great effort by them and I take my hat off to their efforts and wish them well with the rebuild project.
Good luck Peter Winn & team #517

The hood on it is a custom carbon fiber hood they made themselves. They have a video on youtube of them making it I believe. Thats why it doesn't quite look right.

Thanks, that's interesting, I'll have a look for that.
Please post a link if you have one.

Peter and his dad Ian are great guys.

I was able to catch up with them back in March 2013 and get a first hand look at both the wrecked Mach 1 and then new project. Peter is going full out again with the new car for the Targa races.
