Member Ford Racing Team decal info?
#1
Does anyone know the origins or history of the Ford Racing Team from back in the late 60's/early 70's?

I have this decal on my windshield and was wondering what you guys might know about it.

Well I didn't recognize that one as an official Ford decal/sticker.

While Ford did have a very strong club for performance enthusiasts known as the Ford Drag Team, it was shut down about the same time our cars were beginning production (end of 1970). The stickers and other promotional items were pretty common for many years. I still have a couple of stickers (still found - prob reproduced on ebay) and my old Ford Drag Team fender cover.

My assumption that your sticker is a generic one made by some old sticker manufacturer seems more correct now that I have located very similar stickers but with other marques. See comparison pics below:

While the sticker is still kinda neat - it is very generic in nature. Angel
This is the best info I can provide for all I have learned and researched.

Thanks Ray. I am very familiar with the drag team but never heard of this club before. I guess I will just leave it there until someone walks up and says "I haven't seen one of those stickers since......" And then the story will be known......
