I don't think that the window sticker kills the idea of it being an R code, but it is more likely a Q code as far more were made and after a restoration, an R code would be hard to miss mentioning.
Still I like the car overall-be interesting to see what it sells for.
"I love my Hookers!" and "Get some Strange" probably have a different connotation to non automotive enthusiasts!

It is a very nice car, no matter what the vin is.

Well, it looks to have the correct ( and rare) "R" code air cleaner with the vacuum-operated air door on the side. Can't imagine someone would pony up for an incorrect air cleaner when an incorrect ram-air set up would look better and be cheaper!
•
It may well be a case of someone owning it that doesn't know that an "R" code 72 Mustang is "special". If I get a reply I'll post and let everyone know.

Looks to be a Q code "in very good condition". Lots of options and seems worth the money. The Q code air cleaner also had the vacuum actuated air door. R code would have finned aluminum valve covers, aluminum intake, and rev limiter on the front of the passenger's side shock tower. Chuck

I guess that 'splains it!
